Four chemists plead guilty in falsification of tests results
15 March 2007Four chemists, workings as inspectors on a factory which produced Able Laboratories medications in New Jersey, plead guilty in falsification of tests results in order to make them meet Food and Drug Administration requirements. In addition, one of the defendant, 65-years-old Shashikant Shah, plead guilty in fraud with securities. For that time, when company falsified the results of tests, he earned $909000 from the sale of shares.
In the court Shah and another defendant, 56-years-old Jyotin Parikh, reported that they worked under instructions of the chief administrator Dhananjay Wadekar. Robert Kirsch, US Chief prosecutor assistant, reported that Parikh and Shah confessed their participation in a secret project which was managed by a main administrator of Able Laboratories. Able Laboratories produces such popular medications, as Percocet, Aleve, Naprosyn and other medicines. As reported the lawyer of accused, all acknowledged the seriousness of their actions and began to co-operate with investigation.
