6 NATO military are killed in Afghanistan
6 July 2007Six Canadian soldiers of the NATO international peace-keeping contingent were killed on Wednesday in Afghanistan.
According to all available information, the patrol vehicle of Canadians was blown up on a mine. Together with military of the Alliance was killed the translator – Afghan, who accompanied them. The responsibility for the bomb attack was taken by the Taliban movement.
In April of the current year in a similar incident were lost 6 Canadians in Kandahar province. The last tragedy was also in this province. In opinion of the observers, it became the reason of more strengthened pressure upon the Canadian government not to prolong the contingent’s mandate in Afghanistan.
Also the day before Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany has declared, that in Afghanistan disappeared the citizen of Germany who, apparently, was stolen. On the preliminary data, incident has taken place in Urushan in the south of the country.
