PRK citizens are executed for mobile phone use
19 June 2007South-Korean whistle-blowers inform that North Korean authorities have toughened the punishment for those inhabitants of the country who illegally use mobile phones, and also distribute uncensored information.
In particular, according to South-Korean whistle-blowers, now “the death penalty” became more common punishment towards people for similar actions. However, the document doesn’t include any information, which can prove this.
Three years ago authorities forbade average South-Koreans to use mobile phones and the Internet. These means of the communications, however, are available to many representatives of elite, and also to a number of employees of the foreign missions accredited in the country.
Nevertheless, some people illegally take “mobiles phone” from China and use them in frontier areas where the operative range of cellular communication of a neighboring country is kept.
- The phone conversation at the wheel is punished by the law
- One man died as the result of mobile phone explosion
- Czechs have created an efficient system of stolen phones’ blocking
