US Senate refused to legalize immigrants
11 June 2007The bill which would allow millions of illegal immigrants to be legalized in the USA came off second-best in the Senate.
The compromise text coordinated by both parties and supported by the president, has not received on Thursday, on June, 7, the simple majority of voices which would allow it to be authorized in the prime order.
Illegal migration - one of the main problems exciting the average American, - for certain will be among the questions which will determine an outcome of 2008 presidential elections.
George Bush has declared this sphere one of priority directions of his activity and repeatedly declared, that wants to achieve adoption of the new law up to the end of the current year.
Leaders of both party fractions promised to do the utmost to return the bill on consideration in the nearest weeks, however the agenda of the senate is so full, that the destiny of this major document remains unclear.
The draft assumes, in particular, that illegal immigrants can, having paid 5 thousand dollars, to appeal for the renewed Z visa which opens an opportunity to obtain the residence permit, though that very process may take some years.
