Dozens lbs of gold are stolen in Switzerland during the watch plant robbery

29 May 2007

Some dozens lbs of gold were stolen from safes of watch factory in small town Kurtetel in Switzerland.
Representative of a local police informed that four unknown persons penetrated at night into a building of a plant through a window of a basement and, threatening with the weapon, tied hands of five workers of a night shift. Then they forced one of them to show them safes with watches` cases made of yellow and white gold.
According to factory workers, having opened the safes, criminals taken out the plunder in linen bags. The administration inventories the sizes of plunder and estimates the sum of losses.
Mass media informs that investigation is complicated, as the criminals wore masks, and the alarm signal about a robbery reached the police station only in some hours when one of workers managed to free himself from a sticky tape which tied hands and legs.
Police noted that this attack was one of the largest and impudent robberies in Switzerland for the last years.
