The British Prosecutor Office brought an accusation against Lugovoy
24 May 2007Royal Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, May, 22, brought an accusation against the Russian businessman Andrey Lugovoy in the murder of FSB ex-employee Alexander Litvinenko by a poisoning.
Lugovoy and Livinenko met in London in the day of a poisoning.
Inspectors have the evidence, which specify connection of former KGB officers with the death.
Official representatives of the British law-enforcement bodies informed, that “the final decision” concerning brining the accusations has already been taken.
“Today I have come to a conclusion, that the evidence given us by the police are sufficient to accuse Andrey Lugovoy of murder of Mr. Litvinenko with the help of a premeditated poisoning”, - told the director of the State prosecution Ken McDonald.
Lugovoy`s lawyer declared that he had any written or oral notices about charges to his client. Lugovoy himself many times rejected the participation in poisoning. And in the interview after the conversation with Scotland-Yard inspectors the Russian businessman has declared, that he has not kill Litvinenko, and named himself a victim of a slander.
