1,5 million pounds sterling for the information about the stolen British girl
16 May 2007British tabloid News of the World has promised one and a half million pounds sterling for the information which will help to find the girl kidnapped in Portugal. Such information was placed on the site of the newspaper last week.
The initiative of the newspaper was supported financially by outstanding British businessmen, including the BHS head of Philip Green and Virgin owner, billionaire Richard Branson. The newspaper has set a number of payment conditions: it will be made after the consultations with the Portuguese police and only after approval of the editor-in-chief of the edition. In case when the important information will be given by several people, compensation can be divided between them.
Earlier the owner of a spa-resort in Scotland promised one million pounds of compensation for the information about missed Madeleine McCann.
Three-year old British girl was kidnapped from a bedroom of a hotel in Portuguese resort Angarva on May, 3. Parents of the child, taking supper nearby, have quickly discovered the crime, but police failed to catch criminals.
