Hostage killer was “a good worker” in NASA

25 April 2007

AP informs that the man, starting shooting on Friday, April, 20, in NASA Space center (USA), worked for Space agency for 12 years and knew the dead hostage.
“Up to the recent time he was a good worker “, - the head of the Center Michael Kotes has said about him.
60-years William Phillips, the electrical engineer of the Company Jacobs Engineering, has managed to penetrate with a revolver into the well guarded building 44 and made some shots. One of them killed his colleague David Beverly. After that he had taken a hostage, NASA employee Fran Kranshow, and barricaded in one of the premises on the second floor.
The police officers surrounded a building and tried to communicate with the criminal, however at that moment one more shot was heard - Phillips shot himself.
Both Phillips` hostages had the same profession of the electrical engineer and cooperated with him on work.
As the police assumes, Phillips and Beverly quarreled for some reason. The lost hostage recently has celebrated his 25 anniversary of work in NASA.
