Virginian killer has an imitator

23 April 2007

A new incident with shooting in the USA in an educational institution: 16-years old teenager threatened with a pistol to two schoolmates in a court yard of one of the schools in suburbs of the city Huntersville, Northern Carolina. When the police came, he shot himself.
Motives of this act remain a mystery for the police; however security measures in educational institutions of city were increased. Investigators consider that the possible reason of the shooting was a tragedy at University of Virginia.
One of the main dangers with school murders is that they often inspire other criminals. These crimes draw special attention of the mass-media, politicians and society, potential criminals watch closely process (for example, sitting in front of the TV) and make a decision.
As WCBSTV informs, in Boston was arrested a student of the local university Andrew Rosenbloom who threatened his girl-friend to do, “as the Korean”. Having received this message, girl has immediately called the police.
Several peaks of similar crimes have been marked in the USA: in 1996, 1998 and 2002; in many respects they are explained by “imitating” phenomenon.
