Illegal bug in British prison

11 February 2008

The lawyer of the prisoner of the British prison Littlehey in County Cambridgeshire has uncovered, that his telephone conversations with the client had been tapped.
Dialogue’s printout of the lawyer Creighton with Harry Roberts, who services the penitentiary for murder of three policemen, was among the documents, officially directed to the lawyer.

The lawyer has told, that “has been deeply shocked”, as tapping and use in court of such conversations breaks both British laws and the European convention on human rights.

Creighton has also stated the suspicion, that practice of prisoner’s conversation tapping is widely spread. Representative of the British Ministry of Justice, in his turn has declared, that department is not informed about such activity.
