Doctors without borders are abducted in Somalia
28 December 2007Unknown armed people have stolen two Spanish employees of the international independent organization Doctors without borders.
The incident has taken place in area Pantlend in the north of Somalia. According to the eyewitness, six armed people have blocked road to the automobile with two employees of the organization Doctors without borders.
Unknown persons have captured women and disappeared by the car.
It was informed, that the udbucted Spanish employees of Doctors without borders went to local clinic.
At present in Somalia proceeds guerrilla warfare of Islamites against the governmental armies. The peak of fierce fights has fallen on the end 2006-beginning of 2007, when rebels controlled the most part of the country, including the capital Mogadishu.
The governmental forces have managed to dislodge the Islamites with the help of the neighbor Ethiopia, however struggle and abductions of foreigners still take place.
