The sentence is passed: 40 thousand years in prison for Madrid terrorists
9 November 2007The Spanish court has sentenced three accused in the case of bomb-attacks in Madrid, in 2004.
Each of the accused has received 40 thousand years of imprisonment, informs agency AFP. However, according to the legislation of the country, they will cell no more than forty years.
The verdict has been passed concerning Moroccans Jamal Zougam, who has placed a bomb in one of four blown up trains, and Othman El-Gnaoui, who transported an explosive, and also Spaniard Emilio Trashorras who has given explosives to terrorists.
At the same time, court has acquitted Egyptian Rabei Osman nicknamed Mohammed-Egyptian, who was called by investigation the organizer of bomb-attacks.
The investigation asserts that bomb-attacks were organized by the Islamic grouping connected with Al-Qaeda to revenge upon Spain for participation in the American intrusion to Iraq.
Investigation on this case was conducted concerning 29 persons. Litigation above suspected, eight of whom are the basic, began on February, 15, 2007.
