Ukraine has taken over the leadership in commercial counterfeiting manufacture
22 October 2007World experts have included Ukraine in ten largest countries-manufacturers of counterfeit goods. According to the data of the survey on behalf of International Chamber of Commerce among the heads of 48 large companies, China is in the lead, and Ukraine takes an honorable ninth place.
The Eurocommission informed that on manufacture of counterfeit perfumery (19 % in the European market) the country concedes only to China (37 %). And the domestic counterfeit clothes and food stuffs, which are sold in Europe, put Ukraine on the fifth place.
However the general share of counterfeit production in commodity circulation of the country any expert can say: in Ukraine there is no official account of counterfeit goods.
At the same time experts mark, that owners of eminent brands assist in that impetuous growth: they are not so active in protection of their trade marks, though have all levers for this purpose.
The range of counterfeit goods is wide: cosmetics, clothes, alcohol, food stuffs, medicines, children’s toys, automobiles’ spares, building materials and other popular things.
