Venezuela passes to own Venezuelan time

28 September 2007

The president of Venezuela Ugo Chaves has decided from Monday on to pass to own Venezuelan time to increase efficiency of the citizens.

The leader of Venezuela plans to set watch half an hour backward.

Thus the difference with Greenwich Mean Time will make not minus four hours, as now, but a minus four and a half of an hour.

Venezuelan president considers, this change is necessary, to “improve the metabolism in a brain in the morning, owing to a sunlight”.

Besides he believes, that “schoolboys can now wake up at a daylight, and go to bed before it will darken”.

Anticipating the possible reaction from the international community, he has declared to journalists: “I don’t care, that after my offers someone can call me mad”.
