German authorities have forbidden to copy disks
27 September 2007The upper chamber of the German parliament has approved the bill according to which Germans are forbidden to make copies of any disks, CD and DVD, even for in-home use.
The new law will come into force in 2008, as was informed on Variety.com
Besides an interdiction to copy CD and DVD, Germans will be forbidden to record and store translations from any paid and public TV-channels.
However, nothing is informed yet about the sanctions to infringers of the new law.
In opinion of bill opponents, users have the right to create copies of got by them films and musical albums in case of original’s damage.
