Great Britain introduces examinations for immigrants
12 September 2007Great Britain toughens immigration legislation, introducing the special test in English language, history of the country and its traditions for potential candidates for work in the country.
On September, 8, Prime Minister Gordon Brown has declared, that people arriving to the Great Britain for employment, should pass examination in English language, bases of the British culture and history.
According to a weekly journal, new norm concerns experts of high and average qualification who have the right after a long stay in the country to apply for constant residence. Henceforth immigrants from the countries which are not EU0members, wishing to work in the United Kingdom, should pass the complex test corresponding the final examination of British secondary school.
British Home Secretary Jackie Smith has declared that examination has been introduced for the faster integration of immigrants into the modern British society.
Meanwhile people with low qualification, according to new rules, do not have the right of constant residence in the Britain and consequently will not pass language tests.
