$1 million is stolen at the Paraguay airport
3 August 2007At the airport of Asuncion city, capital of Paraguay, couriers of the Spanish company Money Exchange S.A who were going to Montevideo (Uruguay) with about 1,5 million dollars, became subject to the armed attack, informs Reuters.
Under the statement of the officials, 12-14 people participated in a robbery. At the same time, the eyewitnesses have counted five people. Under their statements, the robbers armed with pistols, or with the guns, have snatched out a suitcase with money from hands of one of the Money Exchange S.A employees, who was going to go aboard the plane. This suitcase contained one million dollars.
The second employee of the company has had time to hide other suitcase with another half-million dollars.
The attack has been well organized, consider the police. Everything happened so quickly, that no shot has been made. Thus criminals managed to disarm one of four policemen accompanied couriers. Other three had not even the time to get the weapon.
At the terminal the robbers got in the prepared car. Later this car was found out in about 20 blocks from the building of the airport.
Police claim to know the names, but nobody has been detained.
